It deals with the structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, and distribution of living things. It describes and classifies organisms, their functions, the evolution, the interaction among different species and their relation with the environment. There are four unifying principles behind the formation of modern theory of biology – cell theory, evolution, genetics and homeostasis.
