Marguerite Yourcenar was the pen name of Marguerite Cleenewerck de Crayencour, a French novelist. She was born on 8th June 1903 in Brussels. She is not only a short story writer, playwright, novelist, essayist, but also a poet. In the year 1929, she published her first novel called Alexis. Grace Frick, a translator by profession and her close friend invited her to come to America. During that time she gave her lecture in New York City on comparative literature. In 1937, she and Frick became couples and remained as lovers till the death of Frick in 1979 parted them.
