Desmond Doss Medal of Honor
Desmond Doss was born on 17th January, 1919. He was the first conscientious objector in the US Army who was awarded the Medal of Honor. The Medal of Honor is the highest military decoration awarded by the United States government. A conscientious objector is an individual who follows his religious, ethical and moral beliefs which are incompatible with being an army personnel. At the time of receiving the honor, He was a Private First Class (third lowest post in the US army) assigned to the Medical Detachment, 307th Infantry, 77th Infantry Division.
