Subluxation Of The Patella By Wider Pelvis Shallow Groove For Kneecap
Patella or kneecap is a thick, triangular bone that articulates with the femur bone and protects and covers the front of the knee joint. Patella is one of the three bones that comes together at the knee joint. Patella is the largest sesamoid bone in the human body, which is attached to the tendon of the quadriceps femoris muscle that helps to straighten the legs. Its primary functional work is to extend knees. It is stabilized by the insertion of the vastus medialis and prominence of the anterior femoral condyles. Subluxation of Patella occurs when the kneecap is pulled laterally as it tracks while the knee joint is bent.
