Bowhead Whale Endangered Artic Whale
The Bowhead Whale is also known as the Greenland right whale or the arctic whale, as it is found in the icy waters of the Arctic Ocean. It has been hunted nearly to extinction. The bowhead is so named because its huge jaw is curved like an archers bow. Within the jaw are massive baleen plates, which are bony structures with a sieve-like fringe that act as strainers when the whale feeds.

Northern Right Whale belongs to the baleen whales group of the genus Eubalaena. It is one of the three whales falling into the genus of Eubalaena. The Northern right whales are again classified into the North Atlantic Right Whales and the North Pacific White Whales.
