Second Wave Feminism And The Single Woman Era Of 1960s And 1970s
Second wave feminism and single women has been the subject of many an academic research. Their effect was first felt in the United States in the late 1960s and 1970s. The reason for such a movement was obviously the failure of the first wave of feminism. The movement aimed to educate women on the ills of stereotyping and discrimination on the basis of sex. It taught women that being single provide greater opportunities of a career and to most women; a career would give them the financial independence and spiritual fulfillment than the life of a housewife and a mother.
