Pacific Tsunami Warning Center Ewa Beach
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, abbreviated as PTWC was established in 1949. It is situated in Ewa Beach in the state of Hawaii. It is one of the two Tsunami Centers that were built in the country. This Tsunami center form a part of the Tsunami Warning System, which is a program designed to predict and detect the source of a Tsunami beforehand and let the neighboring areas be informed immediately.

Vanuatu Earthquake 2002 South West Pacific Calamity
Vanuatu earthquake created much uproar in media, as it is one of the most devastating natural calamities.The year 2002 is remembered for a powerful earthquake that struck Vanuatu, which is a group of about 80 islands in the Southwest Pacific with a total population count of about 190,000 people. There were no reported deaths though many people were injured. Nearby Buildings in the business district of the town were damaged and shops had broken windows. Ground liquefaction was accountable for most of the damage to structures, homes, and buildings.

A tidal wave is a wave that moves up to 200 miles per hour and up to 1000 feet high. These waves usually results from a hurricane storms as a tidal bore, a large movement of water formed by the funneling of incoming tide into a river. They also arise due to an earthquake, a landslide or volcanic eruption. Sometimes these waves also result from unusual astronomical conditions.
