Uremic Poisoning Or Uremia Acute Renal Failure Causes Lethargy Headache
There are two kidneys in our body whose work is to control body fluids and body chemicals. They also excrete the waste products, formed in body due to the breakdown of proteins (from food) and muscle activity, through urine and sweat. In case of kidney or renal failure, kidneys cannot remove these waste substances which become poisonous to the body. These waste products mainly mean nitrogenous proteins like urea, creatinine etc. Accumulation of excess urea, creatinine along with some other nitrogenous proteins and excess amino acid metabolism result into a syndrome, termed medically as Uremic Poisoning or Uremia. It means “contaminating the blood with urine”, though it is not right clinically.
