Lighting the Menorah is the most important ritual that the Judaists observe during the holiday of Hanukkah. The candles are lit by every Judaist family with the nightfall in order to show the miracle that was done by the God to each family. The menorahs are lighted continually for eight days with recitation of blessings.

It is observed by lighting lights (candle, lamp or electric) on each night of the 8-day period in the manner of lighting one light on the first night, two on the second, three on the third and so on.
