Capital News 9 24Hour Local News Channel
Launched on October 11, 2002 ( delayed by a year due to various infrastructure and staffing problems ), Capital News 9 is Albany's first cable-only 24-hour, 7 day-a-week local news channel operated by AOL Time Warner's regional cable companies. In August 2006, the channel increased its reach to the former Adelphia systems in the market when Time Warner closed on their purchase of those systems. Due to the lineup structure, it can be viewed on channels 1 to 78 in Queensbury, channel 1 to 97 in Canajoharie, and on either channel 7 (northern) or 95 (southern) in Berkshire County, Massachusetts.

It was launched in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by WPVI TV, former WFIL-TV.
