Hal Moore Former Lieutenant General of the United States Army
Harold Gregory Moore, nicknamed Hal Moore, is a retired Lieutenant General of the United States Army. During 1965, at the battle of La Drang in Vietnam, he was the Lieutenant Colonel in command of the 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 7th Cavalry Division and now he is the Honorary Colonel of the Regiment. In his career, Moore was awarded with the Distinguished Services Cross, which is the second highest military decoration of the United States Army.
