Animal Facts Monarch Butterfly With Brownish Orange Wings
Animal facts: The monarch butterfly has brownish-orange wings with black to dark brown on the margins. The monarch butterfly is sometimes called the "milkweed butterfly" because its larvae eat the plant. The wings also have two rows of orange and/or white spots and veins outlined in black. Males have a black scent pocket on their hind wings. The Monarch is a common poisonous butterfly that eats poisonous milkweed in its larval stage and lays its eggs on the milkweed plant.
