The Book of Esther, more commonly known as the Megillah is an important book of the Hebrew Bible, which is called the Tanakh. It also has been associated to be a part of the Old Testament, the first section of the two-part Christian Biblical canon. However, it is considered to be a religious book of the Jews and it plays a very important role in the celebration of their festival, the Purim.
