In the theory based on probability and statistics, median can be defined as the middlemost number that divides the larger part of the sample, population or probability distribution from the smaller part. If the median number of a well defined number list is to be generated then after putting together all the observations in ascending order, the middle number is to be selected. If the number of observations result in being even then the median value will be the resultant mean of the two middle numbers that exists.
