John Marshall Jurist And Statesman
John Marshall was a great statesman and jurist of America who exercised significant influence in shaping the countrys constitutional law. He was the longest serving Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of America from February 1801 until his death in 1835. Marshall also held other important posts like the Secretary of State and shaped the balance of power between the federal government and the states.

We Are Marshall Matthew McConaughey Lead Character
In 2006 MCG directed a motion picture called We Are Marshall. It was about what happened after a plane crash in 1970, which killed almost the entire football team of Marshall University Thundering Herd. The film shows how the community recovers from this mishap and then slowly rebuilds itself and the football program at the University.

Marshall University stands as one of the major coeducational research public universities in the city of Huntington in West Virginia. The university was established back in the year 1837. However, when it was opened that year by the residents of Guyandotte, it was merely an institution providing secondary education to the children around the Maple Ground, the home of the Mount Hebron Church. It was from the next year that the institution started planning for providing facilities for higher studies.

Marshall University Plane Crash Huntington Tri State Airport
Marshall University plane crash caused a lot of human casualty. Human destiny has its own queer and unforeseen ways of telling things. On November 14, 1970 at around 7:35 pm the Southern Airways Flight 932 crashed down a hill very near to the Tri-State Airport and killed all seventy-five passengers on board. The death list included the thirty-seven members of the Marshall University Thundering Herd football team who earlier cancelled the same flight and later re enlisted to board the plane.
