Seal Island is located in the Gulf of Maine as an island which is approximately 19 km southwest of Grand Manan Island on Southwest Head, New Brunswick and approximately 16 km southeast from Cutler, Maine. Canada and United States both claim their control and ownership over the territory and so the sovereignty of the land is disputed.
