Indianapolis Star Downtown Building Lockdown Occurred As A CD With Anthrax Threat Arrived Via Mail
Laboratory tests confirmed on Tuesday that the envelope containing a CD with “Anthrax Sample” marked on it and mailed to the Indianapolis Star was a hoax. The employees of The Star were informed via e- mail by president and publisher, Michael G. Kane that the Marion County Health Department had confirmed that the materials have tested negative for anthrax. Marion County Health Department and Indianapolis Fire Department tested samples for radioactivity and toxic industrial chemicals and then came out with the conclusion that both had tested negative.
