Fund For Independence Organization For Quality Journalism
The Fund for Independence in Journalism offers legal defense and endowment options for the Center for Public Integrity. This institution is the largest nonprofit organization that actively supports investigative journalism through out the world. Their three fundamental objectives are to enlighten everyone about the role and importance of media, secondly to support the peoples right to know and most importantly to spread the awareness about medias accountability in a democracy. Beginning 1989 the Center has so far published 300 investigative reports and 14 books and has been awarded by PEN, USA for 36 times.

Mumbai Blasts Lead To Citizen Journalism As Bloggers Prove Their Worth To The Mainstream Media
It seems as if citizen journalism has emerged with the Mumbai bloggers feeding live updates of the Mumbai terror attacks by Islamist gunmen. A blogger was found to be furiously uploading photos of damages that resulted from the attack. The attack has resulted in 101 deaths and injuries to 287 people. Even Westerners were held as hostages in luxury hotels. The photos were even posted in the photo sharing website called Flickr. Running descriptions and commentaries were even proved by a few bloggers from the action spots.
