Winnipeg Folk Festival At Manitoba Canada During Summer With Music
Every year, during the summer, the Winnipeg Folk Festival is held at Birds Hill Provincial Park which is located near Winnipeg of the province of Manitoba, Canada. Folk artists of various types from various corners of the globe as well as local performers of folk music assemble here every summer making this festival a great event. In 2008, this festival will take place between 10th July and 13th July, i.e., from Thursday to Sunday. Winnipeg is 2668 km from New York and 1181 km from Ontario. This Festival is organized on a no-profit basis.

Kingston Trio Twice Grammy Award Winner Folk Band By Frank Weber
Among few music bands of the country who helped to retreat the folk music during late 1950s to early 1960, Kingston Trio are one of the best. It revived the folk music even in the booming era of Rock and Roll. Three members of this folk and pop band were Dave Guard, Nick Reynolds and Bob Shane. They formed this band in the Palo Alto, California in 1957. Their music was very much influenced by Calypso, an Afro-Caribbean type of music that they named their band after Jamaica’s capitol. Their band was discovered by Frank Werber, a publicist of Hungry i. who he helped them to sign their first contract with Capitol Records.
