ELCA The Evangelical Lutheran Church In America Confesses Two Sacraments Communion And Holy Baptism
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), headquartered at Chicago, Illinois is the largest Lutheran denomination in the US consisting of 4.77 million baptized members. This mainline protestant denomination was formed in the year 1988 when three churches- the Lutheran Church in America (LCA), the American Lutheran Church (ALC) and the Association of Evangelical Lutheran Churches (AELC) merged.
