Congregational church is the term often used to describe the churches of Protestant Christians. In the United States, the Pilgrims successfully set up the Plymouth Colony. Another major chunk of the Congregationalists was the Puritans of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. The Cambridge Platform was established in the year 1648. This is hailed as the birthplace of contemporary Congregational church.
