The Massachusetts Bay Colony at times referred to as the Massachusetts Bay Company for the institution that established it.

The Blue Laws was established by the governor Theophilus Eaton in the year 1655 for the Colony of New Haven, which presently forms a part of Connecticut. The governor also received the active help from the Rev. John Cotton in framing the law.
