Col Claus Graf Schenk Von Stauffenberg was the intrepid German army officer and one of the pivotal figures of the July 20 Plot of 1944 to kill the Fuehrer Hitler. Stauffenberg's ulterior motive was to upset the government and to take control of the total power. But the whole conspiracy failed He and his rebels' secret plan was exposed and his and his co-schemers' execution was done before the 1.00 am of 21st July. He was born at the Stauffenberg castle of Jettingen in 1907. He married Nina Freiin von Lerchenfeld.

The comedy film Fred Claus will be available on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in the UK on 24th November, 2008 and on 25th November, 2008 in the US. The special add-on is also provided along with it which includes audio comments by director David Dobkin and deleted scenes that run for 25 minutes. The Blu-ray Disc format incorporates an extra disc titled Fred Claus: Race to Save Christmas and a music video by Ludacris for Ludacrismas in High Definition.
