After becoming victorious in Senate’s 19th District, Republican candidate Kurt Schaefer gave victory speech at Columbia’s Stoney Creek Inn. Schaefer had received 48.5 percent votes and democratic candidate Chuck Graham had received 46.8 percent votes out of 115 precincts. The election result was very close as Graham had received 38,232 votes and Schaefer had received 38,620 votes.
