The General was made in the year 1927 by the director duo Clyde Bruckman and Buster Keaton. The writers Al Boasberg and Clyde Bruckman wrote the story of the movie. The General hit the US movie theaters on February 5th, 1927. Several re-releases of the movie were made later in US movie theaters. A special screening of the movie was made at the St. Hans Haugen Film Festival in Norway.
