Bay to Breakers is an annual footrace of 7.46 miles, which is held at San Francisco on every 3rdsunday of May. From the very name Bay to Breakers it is reflected that it starts from the Bay, Northeast end or the downtown area near the Embarcadero, (the bay side of the city) and it ends at the ocean, to the west end of the city and ocean beach (the ocean breakers near the finish line on the pacific coast).

Headquartered in Palatine, Illinois, the company was established as McBride Manufacturing Company in 1903. After changing their name into Detroit Fuse and Manufacturing Company the name Square D finally emerged in 1917 from the company logo of a D of Detroit within a square frame. Since 1991, the company is being owned by Schneider Electric and they continue selling to the commercial, industrial and residential markets.
