A fourteen year old girl in Haiti, Marlie Casseus suffered from a cancer of the throat which not only hampered her breathing but terribly disfigured her face. Sponsored by the International Kids Fund, Marlie underwent a series of operations to remove the sixteen pound tumor from her face. The entire process was filmed into a television show called A new face for Marlie and was broadcast in the United States by the Discovery health channel on 6th July 2006
