Hurricane Rita Relief efforts were designed in line with the massive scale of damage left in the wake of the most intense tropical cyclone ever observed in the Gulf of Mexico, making landfall on 24 of September 2005, Hurricane Rita caused severe damage to Louisiana and extreme southeastern Texas coast. The destruction caused by the Hurricane, however, found generous relief efforts from all quarters. The relief efforts saw the coming together of community contributions with governmental initiatives.

So far as the storm year of 2007 is considered Dean is reported to be the first Atlantic Ocean hurricane. It had been formed between Africa and Caribbean in the Atlantic Ocean. But according to the National Hurricane Center's forecast track this storm was supposed to reach the Lesser Antilles especially in the islands of the eastern Caribbean and this Lesser Antilles would extend from Trinidad in the south to the British and U.S. Virgin Islands in the north.
