Mesothelium is a membrane which forms a lining to three body cavities i e. the Pleura(thoracal cavity),the Peritoneum(abdominal cavity), and the Pericardium(heart sac). Apart from these, mesothilial tisues are found outlining the male internal reproductive organs(the tunica vaginalis testis) and the female internal reproductive organs(the tunica serosa uten). It is classified into Visceral mesothelium and parietal mesothelium. While visceral covers the internal organs, parietal protects the body walls.
