Minimum Wage Raised In The UK And Violation Involves Penalties But The Raise Thought As Inadequate
Adult workers in the United Kingdom would be entitled to a minimum wage of £5.73 per hour from October1, 2008 onwards. The previous figure was £5.52 an hour. The workers whose ages are between 18 and 22 years would also be having their statutory hourly rate increased to £4.77 from £4.60. The statutory hourly rates have also been raised to £3.53 from £3.40 for the 16 and 17- year old workers.
