Dr. Jane Goodall who is better described as a conservationist and a scientist has visited Melbourne as a part of her tour in Australia. She paid a visit to the Melbourne Zoo on October 8 and discussed about the efforts that should come on a worldwide basis to help preserve the endangered species from extinction. She launched a mobile phone recycling campaign during which she shred the stage with the resident gorillas of the Melbourne Zoo. The funds raised through this campaign would be utilized for the primate conservation work undertaken by the Jane Goodall Institute in Africa.
