He was an industrialist, dam builder, timber baron and financier who realized the potential of the northern regions of Minnesota. Besides founding this company, he was also responsible for building a hydroelectric dam between the International Falls area and Fort Frances, Ontario which provided much of the power required by the paper mills in the region. David Branch was the Commissioner of the Ontario Hockey League. He was born on 27th of November in the year 1948 in Bathurst, in New Brunswick. Since 11th August, 1979 he served as the Commissioner of the Ontario Hockey League. This is one of the three Major Junior A Tier I ice hockey leagues which constitute the Canadian Hockey League. This league is for players aged 15-20. In 1980, the Ontario Hockey League was born with the renaming of the Ontario Major Junior Hockey League.
