For more than 50 years Al Purdy has enthralled the readers with his brilliant verses. This famous 20th century Canadian poet was born on December 30th 1918 and passed away on April 21st, 2000. Alfred Wellington Purdy or Al Purdy has some thirty books in his credit, some memoirs, a novel and books on correspondence. Al Purdy is well known for his contribution in Canadian literature and hence is known as an “unofficial poet laureate”.
