Oliver Goldsmith Irish Author Poet Dramatist Of The Deserted Village
Oliver Goldsmith was born on November 10, 1730 and died on April 4, 1774. He was an Anglo-Irish author, poet, and doctor by profession. He was brought up in the urban country of Pallas, near Ballymahon, Ireland. He was also brought up at his maternal grandparents home known as Smith Hill House in the district of Elphin, County Roscommon. His grandfather Oliver Jones was a clergyman and head of the Elphin district school.
