Betty Broderick was born on November 7, 1947 in Eastchester, New York. She was the third of six children born to Roman Catholic parents Marita and Frank Bisceglia. She had graduated from a small Catholic women's college in Riverdale, named College of Mount Saint Vincent from where she got a degree of BA in child psychology.She met her future husband Dan Broderick, at a football game between the University of Southern California and the University of Notre Dame, where he was an undergraduate.

Betty Williams Fighting For Nobel Cause
Betty Williams was born on May 22, 1943 at Belfast Northern Ireland. She was an office worker, a wife and a mother who took little part in public life until 1976. This change occurred when she witnessed an incident that forced her to speak out. The British troops shot an Irish Republican Army terrorist who was trying to flee in a car. The car in which the Irish Republican Army terrorist was traveling lost control and struck several people, killing three children. Williams wanted to protest against this sectarian violence and she began distributing petitions and pamphlets in the protestant neighborhoods.
