Bagger Vance Golf and Mysticism
Bagger Vance is a directorial venture of actor Robert Redford starring Matt Damon, Will Smith, Charlize Theron, Bruce McGill, and others. The film also starred two-time Academy winner Jack Lemmon in an uncredited role of old Hardy Greaves. It also happened to be his last film appearance. The film was released on 3 November, 2000 and was based on a 1995 book by Steven Pressfield that won the Golden Goblet at Shanghai Film Festival.

While the novel had a mythical context of Bhagabvad Gita, the movie's narrative centers around the US state Georgia. The similarity between the novel and Gita is pointed out in a book by the Hinduism scholar Steven Rosen.
