The story of her rescue gained global attention and was covered by various electronic and print media from all over the world. The incident later became the subject of a 1989 ABC TV movie titled Everybodys Baby: The Rescue of Jessica McClure. Scott Shaw of the Odessa American received the 1988 Pulitzer Prize in spot news photography for his photograph of the rescue of Baby Jessica.
