Act Scores American College Testing Program
ACT, or American College Testing program, is a standardized achievement examination for the admission in the colleges of the United States of America. These exams are held by ACT Inc. The test was first held in 1959 as a competitor to the College Boards Scholastic Aptitude Test, now better known as the SAT Reasoning test. According to the ACT scores of a student, he or she gets admission to respective colleges across America.

The Intercollegiate Studies Institute turned up with a quiz related to American civics, history and economics for 2,500 people that was comprised of even elected-officials. The result was bad scores achieved by officials as well as ordinary citizens. The scores of the average citizen were comparatively higher than the elected-officials by nearly 5%. The least number of answers were received for questions on basic economics. Josiah Bunting, chairman of the National Civic Literacy Board at ISI highlighted that its surprising that the political leaders turn out making decisions without having an understanding of the American experience.
