HTC G1 TI Mobile Android Smartphone Unveiled In New York 360 Degree Street Views

Competition does weird things to companies. Before Google unveiled its T-1 Mobile Android it was known as HTC G 1. The HTC Dream is now given way to the Android – the robot with a human face. It still promises a host of activities ready to give iphone and future smart phones (anyone else out there?) a run for their money.

To begin with, G phone was long awaited and it promises a first among a series of such smartphones or should we add android phones. Unveiled in New York with wireless carrier T –Mobile, the actual mobile phone is made by Taiwan’s HTC hence the previous name while Google provided what is known as the android software it developed for it.

Reviews are pouring in and they look good. Peppy and smart. It is all about the looks, honey though the G phone is said to weigh 20 per cent heavier and 30 pr cent thicker than the iphone. More dependable, what?

What lies ahead and in store for the end users? Some sneak previews. To begin it can give 360-degree street views and has 3 megapixel camera. It is easy to punch the keyboard but it does not have copy-pasting facilities just like in the iphone. It does not have any desktop synchronization software with the phone creating difficulties in contact synching.

Otherwise, it has some of the features already known to us through the iphone from Apple. Touch screen, wi-fi and 3 G connectivity. The Google people are hoping that the Android software will set the trend in developers in coming up with more software programs on the mobile platform. With a good track record in webmail, Google can hope for more such products and more products mean more advertisement revenue for Google.

Some others analyze that Google is not targeting the smart phone users of Blackberry, Mac OS and Apple iphone but more of the 80 per cent not smart phone category. Whether G phone goes bust or becomes a rage will be unveiled gradually. But first the launch slated for UK on October 22 and as a late as 2009 for rest of Europe. Htc G1
