
Kelsey Smith finally got justice. The man who had kidnaped, raped and murdered 18-year-old Kelsey would receive sentence today. He will be given life imprisonment. According to reports, there is least possibility of leaving him on parole. Life imprisonment is the least sentence the culprit Edwin R. Hall can be awarded.
Hall who is also known as Jack had pleaded guilty to his crimes in Johnson County Court on July 23. It is believed that 26-year old Edwin R. Hall would have to live the best part of his life rotting in the jail cell for the heinous crime he committed. Hall belongs to Olathe, Kansas and it is believed that he is a very disturbed individual.
After his arrest in 2007 for kidnaping and murdering 18-year-old Kelsey Smith, Hall was arrested and officially charged with first degree murder. The charges brought against him generally amount to life imprisonment sentence.
Hall had kidnaped Kelsey Smith from the parking space of a local Target store in the broad daylight. Later, he murdered the teenager in a very brutal manner. The report suggests that hall is married and has a child. His 4-year-old son lives with his wife Aletha.
The details about this kidnap and murder story tell that Kelsey was last seen on June 2, 2007 at around 7 pm CST in the parking lot of the Target store near the Oak Park Mall in Overland Park in Kansas. After her mysterious disappearance, an extensive search and investigation operation was initiated by police, national media and other related authorities.
After about two hours of her disappearance, police found her abandoned car outside Macy's located near the Oak Park mall parking lot. The authorities also recovered her purse and wallet from her car. It was believed right from the beginning that Kelsey was kidnaped. There were strong evidences to this effect. The surveillance video received from Target showed someone forcing Kelsey into her car. Other video footage, however, confirmed the suspicion and identified a Chevrolet truck belonging to the era of 1970.
Further evidences ultimately led the investigation team to her body that was recovered from a wooded area near Longview Lake in southern Jackson County, Grandview, Missouri on June 6, 2007 at 1:30 pm.
