Angora fire started on 24th June, 2007 near Angora Lakes, Fallen Leaf Lake and South Lake Tahoe, California. The day was Sunday and the time was around 2 15 pm. The fire was a result of an illegal campfire. It initially broke out near Seneca Pond that is a small lake near Lake Tahoe as well as near the town of Meyers. The California Earthquake, at the small town of Landers, in the Mojave Desert was an earthquake of magnitude 7.3 on the richter scale. It occurred at 4:57 a.m. on June 28, 1992. It was the state's largest earthquake since the Kern County earthquake in 1952, which measured 7.7 on the Richter scale. The aftershocks of this 1992 earthquake included the 6.4 magnitude Big Bear Earthquake. One person was killed, two people died of heart attacks and more than 400 people were injured and substantial damages occurred due to this earthquake.

Tropical Storm Barry Gulf Coast Depression
On the Peninsula's central or northern Gulf coast a number of tropical storms were predicted to cause landfall. It was near the state's Big Bend area, Bonita Beach on Floridas southeast coast from where they warned about it. According to the National Weather service they were expecting 13-17 tropical storms among which 7-10 were supposed to be hurricanes and the rest in some strong category.
