Susan Ward is an American actress as well as a model. She was born in Monroe, Louisiana as Michelle Susan Ward on 15th April in the year 1976. Her father was a policeman by profession while her mother used to do double duty as she was a nurse and at the same time was a professor at the university nearby.

When she was young Susan Ward had the dream to become a veterinarian as her father had love for exotic animals and her mother loved healing the sick. When Susan Ward was only thirteen years old she was discovered by a modeling scout while she was walking through a New Orleans Mall.

She was offered the chance to move to New York and to work full time in the fashion industry there. Susan Ward took the offer right away, as she needed money to pay for veterinary school. But after she spent some years in New York and got taste of the show business, she decided to make modeling her ladder to the stardom.

Apart from modeling Susan Ward actually got interested in acting and showed some real acting talent. She started her acting career with All My Children where she played the small role of a teen age bad girl named Camille and she did it so well that she was called again by the producers to return as a recurring character for the seasons 1994 and 1995. After her daytime television debut Susan Ward made it to the prime time in the year 1996 when she bagged the role of Bree in the teenage drama by Aaron Spelling titled Malibu Shores.

The show starring Keri Russell and Charisma Carpenter failed considerably and was canceled after a season. After this Susan Ward soon made a come back with one of the soap operas named Sunset Beach where she played the role of Meg Cummings. The show ran successfully for two years and in the year 2000 she made it to the big screen with her big budget feature film debut with the thriller named The In Crowd. Though the film did not succeed well, it helped Susan Ward a lot to emerge as a star. In the sets of the film she also met David Robinson who is now her fiance.

She also did some international photo shoots that helped her establish herself as a sex symbol. After that she got two roles in the comedies that were released in the year 2001 named Going Greek and Shallow Hal.
