In case of legal system, which is regulated by the common law, the judges generally create the law. In case of a revision of the law the judges are responsible in doing so. If there is as such no authoritative statement, then the common law judges have the full authority to make a certain law. They can do so by using or creating a precedent. It is then known as common law.

Terry Mahoney has also asked for a full disclosure of the transactions during the past two years when marital assets had been dissipated by Tim Mahoney to enable her to get her share.
