Deborah Mathis Afro American Journalist White House Correspondent Named In Clinton Chronicles


Deborah Mathis is an American journalist of African origin and is also an author. She was the correspondent in White House for the Gannett News Service. She made headlines for her alleged sexual relationship with Bill Clinton and thus securing the White House Press Corp job. Deborah Mathis lives in Chevy Chase in Maryland with her husband and children.

Deborah Mathis’s father was a Baptist minister. She started her journalism career as an Arkansas democrat reporter. The newspaper was the foremost newspaper in Arkansas. She then worked in Television in its news channel while in Little Rock as well as Washington. She switched over again to newspaper journalism working as an editorial columnist and later became the associate editor for the Arkansas Gazette.

For her alleged relationship with Clinton, Deborah’s name came in the list of "The Clinton Chronicles" in youtube.com. The list contained such names as Beth Coulson, Regina Blakely, Elizabeth Ward, Sherry Wright, Susie Whitacre, and Jo Jenkins. She writes nationally syndicated columns for Tribune Media Services.

Deborah Mathis makes regular critical observations on America's Black Forum. She has written two books on the black people of America. These are “Yet a Stranger: Why Black Americans Still Don't Feel at Home” that has received mixed reactions from the press and the other is “Sole Sister: The Joys and Pain of Single Black Women.” She says that her upbringing with a Baptist father has led her to know the good and bad times of life.

This led her to write the book “What God Can Do,” which speaks about the real life of ordinary people with their different trials and tribulations, what the presence of God can do wonders to their life. In the present world of war and uncertainty, the book is sure to provide morale boost with its many spiritual advises

Deborah Mathis has appeared on Frontline, Good Morning America, as well as The Oprah Winfrey Show. In one of her interviews with Bob Garfield, Deborah spoke about Armstrong Williams and black journalists in general. Armstrong Williams was aide to Jesse Helms, the Senator. Williams came in close contact with Clarence Thomas, who was the Justice of Supreme Court. He was a staunch supporter of the conservative party. Though they are friends, but they agree on almost every issue on the America's Black Forum. Deborah Mathis
