Wales Flag Include Passant Red Dragon On Green White Field Received Official UK UN Recognition 1959

The national flag of Wales points out to The Red Dragon that include passant, red dragon, on a green as well as white field. The flag managed to land up with official repute in the year 1959 but the association of red dragon has been found in Wales for a number of centuries.

The introduction of the green and white stripes in the Wales Flag was done by the House of Tudor, which is the Welsh dynasty that took charge of the English throne in the span from 1485 to 1603. Green and white also form the colors of the leek, which is yet another national emblem belonging to Wales.

In the earliest times the dragon was used for the purpose of symbolizing as known from the Historia Brittonum, which was written in 830.

A large number of legends carry association with the Welsh dragon and the significant among them is the prophecy of Myrddin highlighting the big clash that took place between a white dragon and a red dragon. The flag soars high in the air from the Welsh Office in Whitehall, London as well as the Welsh Assembly Building in Cardiff on a daily basis. The Wales Flag is basically the only flag of the constituent countries of the UK that does not find application in the Union Flag.

Wales carry no precise acknowledgment in the flag as because of the annexation of Wales by Edward I of England in 1282 and also right from this time the Laws in Wales Acts 1535–1542 is regarded as the element of the Kingdom of England. The recommendation was made by Welsh Labor MP namely Ian Lucas relating to giving out more importance to Wales Flag in the Union Flag.

The Wales Flag and Bhutan flag are the only ones to include a dragon but the Chinese flag was also comprised of a dragon at the time of the Qing Dynasty. George Hargreaves, who was regarded as the creator of the Welsh Christian Party turned up campaigning in the year 2007 in the Welsh Assembly elections highlighting the fact that he would alter the flag of Wales with the Flag of Saint David if he gets elected.
