Forever Stamps Postal Service United States Non Denominated Liberty Bell No Monetary Value Printed


Everyone is familiar with the postage stamps attached in the mails that are delivered by the postal services. Forever stamps were issued by the Postal Service of the United States. It was meant for the first-class postages and was similar to United Kingdom’s non-denominated stamps.

Forever stamps came into being in March 2007. The Postal Service of United States applied for the consent to issue forever stamps that would be same as the non-denominated stamps issued by the U.K Postal Service. The stamps costs forty-one cents and was sold from 12th April, 2007.

Liberty Bell stamp was the first no value indicator postage stamp that the Postal Service of U.S. issued. It is named as USA First Class Forever. Forever stamps or non-denominated stamps do not have any monetary value printed on their face. They are planned for certain postal charges that would have its complete validity even if the rates were increased.

Nowadays, postal department of many countries are issuing these types of stamps to reduce the printing cost of low-values stamps that are used along with the stamps issued earlier. Apart from U.S and U.K countries like Canada, Sweden, Monaco, France, Belgium, Israel, Finland and Singapore have also started to issue forever stamps.

The concept of non-denominated or forever stamps were introduced in the year 1989 in U.K. They were applicable for the domestic posts to meet the problem caused for the rapidly changing postal rates. The Universal Postal Union in 1995 accepted its usage for the international posts.

They had inscriptions like 1st and 2nd for specifying the service class. The no-value indicator stamps popular as NVI were issued in Singapore for the first time in 1995. INV stamps named Varlden for international mails, Europa for mails to Europe and Inrikes for domestic mails is issued in Aland Island.

Sweden uses NVI named Brev which is used for domestic mails. The forever stamps or NVI of Canada is termed as Permanent stamp. The Christmas stamps were the earliest stamps without any denomination. It gave the Postal Service of United States to reprint stamps after changes in the postal rates.

The earlier NVI of United States was not similar to other countries. The stamps that were printed for bulk mails and local mails had no denominations printed on them. The stamps that are intended for collection of funds also do not have any denomination printed on their face. Forever stamps
