Thai Airlines Star Alliance Member Awarded The Best Airline In The World Operates From Suvarnabhumi


Thai Airways International Public Company Limited highlights the air carrier working nationally for Thailand. It carries out its operation from Suvarnabhumi Airport. It is also regarded as the founding member of the Star Alliance network.

Thai Airlines tends to provide the operation of many of the non-stop commercial flights for long routes and these are comprised of routes from Bangkok to Los Angeles and to New York. It also managed to get 'Worlds Best Cabin Staff and The Best Airline in the World' as an award from Skytrax in the year 2006 and further got the placement in the first position in the category 'Airline of the Year' in 2007.

Thai Airlines was initiated in the form of a joint venture with Scandinavian Airlines System and the domestic carrier namely Thai Airways Company. The first flight of the carrier was scheduled as on May 1, 1960. The final merger between the two carriers took place on April 1, 1988 and the resultant output was Thai Airways International.

Thai Airlines entered into a codeshare agreement with a number of airlines namely Asiana Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Bangkok Airways, Austrian Airlines, Air Madagascar (Bangkok-Antananarivo) to name a few of them. It initiated with a non-stop Bangkok-New York service on May 1, 2005 by employing new A340-500. It also carries the operation of three direct flights every week on the Bangkok – Johannesburg by putting to use A340-600 aircraft right from the month of October 2006.

Thai Airlines Cargo follows the operation of 747-200F freighter aircraft service two times in every week to Bangkok-Dubai-Paris. The Royal Orchid Plus is the frequent flyer program belonging to Thai Airways International and its membership is owned by more than two million members all throughout the world.

Thai Airlines is comprised of four travel classes namely Economy, Premium Economy, Royal Silk as well as Royal First. It has further placed an order for 6 Airbus A380 aircraft and will get the delivery for them from the year 2010 to put them to serve Paris, London and Frankfurt. It has also made an announcement regarding the signing of a deal with the Boeing company. Thai Airlines
