Directed by Wes Anderson and produced by John Runkle Hotel Chevalier was released in 2007. This short film featured Natalie Portman and Jason Schwartzman. It is a prologue to The Darjeeling Limited by Anderson which was released in the same year. The whole act takes place before Schwartzman aka Jack meets his brothers. The whole episode is shot in a hotel. It was screened with the movie in 64th Annual Venice Film Festival. The film shot in Hotel Raphael in Paris also features the song by Peter Sarstedt “Where Do You Go To (My Lovely).”

Jack or Schwartzman orders a glass of chocolate milk, grilled cheese sandwich and onion soup. As he orders all these he gets a call from his ex girlfriend who has just arrived in the city. She wants to meet him in his hotel room in Paris. As Jason tidies the room the woman arrives and during the course of the conversation the audience gets to know that Jason was staying in the room for “more than a month”.

After the food is given in the room of Hotel Chevalier the two kiss each other and make love. Jack notices a number of bruises on her arms but she does not elaborate on how she got the bruises. As the woman wants to remain friends with Jack, he promises to show her Paris. The film ends on a positive note as the duo stand in the balcony and have a view of the surroundings before returning to the room.
