Tokio Hotel Popular German Music Band

Tokio Hotel, which is a Germany based music band consisting of 4 members, has received many accolades for its performances in its short career. The Band was set up in 2001. Tom Kaulitz is the guitarist and Bill Kaulitz plays the role of the main singer. George Listing is the bassist while drums are handled by Gustav Schäfer. Most of their releases have become huge hits within the nation and they have sold more than 3 million DVDs and CDs there. They produce their work in the various genres of rock.

The quartet set up the band after they met in Magdeburg after a concert. Their initial name was ‘Devilish’ which they used for their concerts and small shows. It was after 2003 that the group altered their name.

Soon after that the renamed band was signed up by Sony BMG. However, the release of their first album was stalled by the termination of Sony’s contract with them. Tokio Hotel was subsequently signed by Universal Music Group in 2005.

The debut album of Tokio Hotel named ‘Schrei’ proved to be immensely successful with the German audience and it managed to climb the popularity charts. It went on to win a Platinum tag afterwards. Two solo tracks of the band ‘Durch den Monsun’ and ‘Schrei’ became huge hits with the audience after their release. The year 2006 witnessed the release of two more singles from the band’s stable titled ‘Der Letzte Tag’ and ‘Rette Mich’ both of which proved to be chartbusters.

The sophomore album of Tokio Hotel was titled "Zimmer 483". It was released in 2007. This album was also made available in a deluxe edition containing a DVD. The release of this album was followed by a tour named the Zimmer 483 tour.

The first English album of the band was released in 2007 with the title ‘Scream’ all over Europe. Its German incarnation was named ‘Room 483’ in sync with the name of their previous album.

The First UK concert of Tokio Hotel took place in June 2007. After tasting success with their shows and releases in USA the band began their famous ‘1000 Hotels Tour’. This European tour commenced in March 2008 and was slated to cover a lot of regions.

But due to some vocal problems developed by Bill, the members were forced to cancel some programs while the tour was on. However, he recovered after an operation and the band members are all set to resume their interrupted programs from May 2008.Tokio Hotel
