The Witches 1990 Film Based On Roald Dahl Book

The movie The Witches, directed by Nicolas Roeg, is based on a book, which is written by Roald Dahl. The movie has been released in the year of 1990. The movie was produced by Jim Henson, Mark Shivas.

There are many things to say about the movie The Witches. According to the movie, the witches made an organization to eliminate the children as many as possible. The grand witch, who was the main brain of that organization made a new plan to eliminate the children. The grand witch created a formula and added some magic poison in it. The formula was called as “Formula 86”. It could turn the children into mice within two hours from injection.

In the movie The Witches, the grand witch planned to buy some shops across England and to distribute chocolates among all the children. She ahs added the formula in all the chocolates. The grand witch and her companions stayed at a hotel where an Old Norwegian Witch expert named Helga and her grandson Luke were also staying. Luke was training his two white mice in the convention hall where the grand witch made an announcement. Luke learned many things about the witches from his grandmother, so he clearly understood the truth. He tried to escape from that convention hall but all the doors were closed.

In the middle of the movie The Witches, the witches had shown their real faces. The witches were bald headed having the long sharp claws. The grand witch had a wrinkle face and pointed long nose. She had turned a greedy boy named Bruno into an anthropomorphic mouse. Luke managed to escape from the convention hall but the grand witch caught him from his hotel room and turned him into a mouse having the human mind with the help of “Formula 86”. Luke and Bruno met each other in a vent and reached to Helga’s room. Luke stole the bottle of “Formula 86” and mixed the formula with the soup which was ready to serve the witches.

In the climax of the movie The Witches, the hotel cook, who was also a witch tasted the soup and turned into a mouse. She tried to inform the witches but they killed her. Within sometime all the witches started turning into mice as they tasted the soup. The hotel stuffs and the guests started killing all the mice, and unknowingly they killed all the witches. The manager of the hotel killed the grand witch with a meat cleaver.

At the end of the movie The Witches, one good witch Miss Irvine, who was the Grand Witch's former assistant restored Luke and Bruno to the human form and said good bye to them with a smile. England was free from witches’ threat. The Witches
